What Causes Temporary Episodes Of Deafness?
My heart rate is normal during these episodes which last, typically 20-50 minutes each and occur randomly some times several days in a week, some times once a week or less often. As stated it is not corrolated to hunger which is normal and not corrolated to whether or not I have just eaten or had nothing to eat for hours. Digestion and bowel movements and sleep pattern are normal and not related. I have discussed this with every doctor I have seen in the last 10-15 years including cardiologist and ENT and have received no answer nor has any testing or treatment been recommended - just a shrug and comment "I don't know what that is".
That is why I 'm asking here.

Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported and all the disturbing thoughts that this has caused you. I hope together we would be able to advance reasons for this and find a common solution to this problem.
I have carefully reviewed your information. Should I say this is caused by an existing disease condition, it would not be very true. This is more about what goes on in the mind that leads to this and not what happens that makes you to notice this. I am pretty sure that the thought of this at times can reproduce the symptoms.
For the past 15years, if this were a disease or an ongoing disease process, it would have been very clear at this time or must have developed into some form of complications. This is simply not the case. This supports the fact that there is nothing abnormal going on and would not require any further medical attention at this time. It is very disturbing when a condition has more to do with what the client has been forced to internalize rather than what the client feels when something is wrong within. The process is reversed fro symptoms to disease and not disease to symptoms.
Tell yourself it is all okay. 15years is enough time for you to have had this same feeing that nothing wrong is going on. These perceived symptoms are distractions that cause further worries and should not be given the room and space to carry on. Suppress this feeling and each time that happens, laugh at it and say this must be a dream Ignoring and accepting it as of no significance would help forget about this and you would report a significant drop in the frequency of symptoms.
In all, the main problem is from the mindset and not a disease condition. I strongly suggest that you consider this normal, ignore the false panics it is causing and suppress it entirely in the long run.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
Am sorry you perceived it that way!

Hi and thanks for letting me know how you feel about the response.
It is delivered in all honesty. It is clearly not what you wish and want to hear but, believe me that is the bitter. Nothing would explain your symptoms and more so extensive testing has shown no lead.
You may perceive it as being irresponsible and disrespectful. As a physician, I will not do that. I deliver the truth and do not beat around the bushes, staying away from the reality because it may not be welcomed. Clients believe a good physician is one who tells them what they want to hear but, a good physician to me is the one who delivers an unadulterated message to the concerned. That is who I am.
I wish you well.
