Question: I hit the side of my head very hard on a bunk bed 5 days ago. No broken skin or swelling, but the area is very tender to the touch. Was a little nauseated the next morning, now i have a mild headache and yesterday noticed some slight bruising under my eyes. Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
No need to be concerned.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for using Healthcare Magic.
From your description, it is clear that you have suffered a significant blow to your head. It is usual to experience some nausea with this kind of injury. There will be bruising to the tissues if the area and this has spread to your eyes. Bruising spreads very easily in this part of the face.
There is no need to worry, this is not a serious injury. However, it may be painful in which case take paracetamol and ibuprofen. Apply a cold compress to the area every 3 to 4 hours in an attempt to reduce the spread of the bruise. The facial bruising may last up to a week.
I hope this is of help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
