
What Causes Thick Mucus Secretion With Soreness In Throat?

Question: My wife age71 has thick mucus secretions in her mouth most of the time. Makes it difficult to swallow and often has burning and sores in mouth

So better to first rule out these diseases.
So get done chest x ray and PFT (pulmonary function test) first.
She may need inhaled treatment in the form of inhaled bronchodilator and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS).

Not smoker will get chest X-ray soon dry mouth yes
