What Causes Tingling In Hands And Joints Pain In Fingers And Knees?

Question: Hello. I have been experiencing tingling in my hands for several months. At night when I wake up from sleeping, my hands are often asleep, even if I am not sleeping in a position that cuts off blood flow. I also have widespread joint pain in my fingers, elboes, knees and toes. The joint pain seems to be eased by excersize and is worse in cold weather. I am only 30 years old. Could this be arthritous? Osteo arthritous runs in my family, but as far as I know knowone ever developed it until old age. I have also recently had stomach surgery which has caused me to loose allot of weight and change my diet drastically. I'm wondering if i could have a vitamen deficiency. I had a MRI recently and it came back normal, so I'm assuming it is not MS or something like that. I have always had shakiness in my hands, and so does my Mom. Doctors think my Mom has essential tremor, so I suppose I could probably have that as well. I guess I was wondering if these symtoms could be correlated.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Based on your suffering the most probable cause could be polyarthritis (rheumatoid arthritis) with carpal tunnel syndrome. This needs blood work (serum RA factor, anti ccp antibody, CRP, thyroid profile) and clinical examination to confirm. You may send the reports when they are ready.
Polyarthritis is treatable and medicine needs to be taken for long time.To confirm vitamin deficiency blood test for vitamin b12 and D is suggested.
Looking forward to your reply.
Take care
