What Causes Tingling, Numbness And Chest Pain In Adults?
Question: Hi doctor
My husband started having chest pains which we thought was heart related but all the tests came out fine at the cardiologists. He also started having tingling and numbness in his fingers and palm of his hands(both hands) and heart burn belching started couple days ago and today he was experiencing numbness in his legs. I am so scared and have no idea what this could be. We have noticed that he started getting chest pains after eating dairy but now he has heartburn and more often belching. Even after he stopped consuming dairy for few days he gets the belching from non dairy foods

Brief Answer:
GERD. To take omeprazole
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through the description you have provided. The symptoms due to dairy products suggest lactose intolerance.
The current belching is likely to be due to GERD.
I would advise you to take a PPI like omeprazole. It is available as an over the counter medicine.
This should help you with the GERD .
I would advice the following changes for your husband.
Avoid alcohol and tobacco
Avoid citrus fruits, chocolate and mint flavors, red meat, limit tea or coffee to 2 cups per day.
Do not lie down for at least 3 hours after meals.
Get atleast 02 minutes of exercise daily.
Hope this helps.
Do get back in case you have further queries.

Thank You Doctor!
I have a suspicion on what happened to him. I bought some MSG nutritional yeast (Bragg's brand) and put too much in our dishes for a while. Could this have affected this burping and numbness and tingling in arms and legs. I also noticed that I have tooth erosion-when I eat anything, my tooth hurts really bad. Please let me know what you think. Thank You!

Brief Answer:
yeast not responsible
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The yeast is not likely to produce t symptoms you have described.
I don't think the yeast is responsible.
As regards the dental erosion I would suggest to consult your dentist to asses if there is caries or if its just dental sensitivity in that case a change in tooth pass might help
