Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have read your query.
The swelling and numbness may be related to carpal tunnel. In carpal tunnel there is edema over tendon at wrist below flexor retinaculum. Due to increased pressure there is compression of median nerve leading to numbness.
In this context I suggest you ask your physiotherapist for therapy for Carpal tunnel. Physiotherapy with ultrasound and Tens will help you. In addition you can take vitamin C supplement along with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory for faster healing. Medication like methylcobalamine and pregabalin can also be started consulting your doctor.
Besides carpal tunnel, your doctor should also check for possible cervical disc bulges.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.
