Brief Answer:
Peripheral neuropathy to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, peripheral neuropathy, a condition characterized by peripheral nerves damage from different causes, should be considered and evaluated further as a possible cause of your husband's symptoms.

Conditions related to peripheral neuropathy include diabetes, viral infections, low vitamins B group, alcohol use (if any), autoimmune diseases, side effects of drugs, heavy metals poisoning, thyroid gland dysfunction, etc.

Appropriate blood tests and nerve conduction studies are necessary to get a correct diagnosis of your husband's condition, besides neurological examination.

Whole spinal cord MRI is also necessary to evaluate any spinal cord compression, since he is suffering from ankylosing spondylitis, that may cause sensory changes in legs.

So, it is necessary for your husband to get evaluated further by tests and by a Neurologist.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards.
