What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Fingers After Injury?

Question: Hello, I am 30 years old and slipped down a flight of stairs and hi my right arm above the elbow. Now I have tingling in my thumb and forefinger. I can grip something but I cannot raise my fingers or wrist. Who should I see about this problem and is there any home remedy I should be doing right now.

Thanks for the query

You seem to be having possible into to the radial nerve in the forearm.

Keep the limb elevated, apply ice, take Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day after meals and Tablet Rabeprazole twice a day before meals for 5 days. Take Tablet Trypsin, Bromelain and Rutoside combination twice a day for 3 days to reduce the swelling.

Get an Xray to look for any possible fracture of the radius bone. Also get a Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) study of the radial nerve to quantity the damage.

This shall recover in a few weeks to a a couple of months. Physiotherapy to move the wrists and fingers is essential. You can use a dynamic cock up splint to encourage movement for now.
