What Causes Tongue Numbness And Muscle Cramps In Feet In An Elderly Person?

Lately i am having a numb tongue and muscle camping in my feet and legs. I rarely drink alcohol. I eat fairly healthy. I live in México and am outside a lot. I walk 3 or more miles a day, up and down hills. I go to Aqua aeorobics three times a week. I am very strong. I use sunscreen. I sweat a lot, a lot! I drink electrolyte drinks and salt my food and drink freshly squeezed Orange juicio because i sweat out salt and potassium. Still i feel like i have some inbalance. My tongue is so numb i sound like i am drunk and i am not. The muscle cramps in my legs are starting to hurt. Help please
Muscle Cramps are due to Salt Loss
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HealthCareMagic.com
I am Dr.Bruno Mascarenhas. I have read your question with care and understand your concerns. Let me try to help you
I understand that you are having Cystic Fibrosis, a mild form
And
You are having Numb Tongue and Muscle Cramps
The Muscle Cramps in Cystic Fibrosis are an indicator that you are losing salt more than what you are taking in. The treatment for this condition is very simple. Just take more Salt and Electrolytes than what you are taking now. I do understand that you drink electrolyte drinks and Fresh Orange Juice. But the fact that you have cramps, suggest that what you are taking in is not enough
Please increase the dose of those :)
The cramps will go away
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Coming to the Tongue Numbness, I would like to know whether you are taking any tablets / treatment for CF / Other Conditions.
Please clarify this in the followup and I will be happy to continue further regarding the Tongue Numbness
Take care.
