What Causes Transient Ischemic Attack?

default
Posted on Sat, 2 May 2015
Question: In January this year I had aortic valve and aneurysm next to it replaced. Occasionally I have double vision for a few minutes. Yesterday it was worst with feeling hot and for the first time profuse perspiration, and the day before had difficulty keeping upright for a few minutes while standing or walking. An optometrist said my eyes were okay about a month ago. ( A few nights after surgery I was started on Amiodaron, to which I had several side effects and I asked to be taken off of it about three weeks after surgery. It felt like poison in my system.)

Brief Answer:
These symptoms indicate transient ischemic attack.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr Dadapeer k an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.
I reviewed your history.
The symptoms you have mentioned in the history in the form of double vision for few minutes, difficulty in keeping upright while standing or walking.... indicate transient ischemic attack.

The common causes are usually vascular and usually involve hypovolemia, hypotension. As told by your optometrist the eyes will be normal and this requires cardiac evaluation by cardiologist doctor.

Hence I advice you to consult your physician doctor or cardiologist fr further evaluation and treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
