Detailed Answer:
Hello m'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. You could be right ma'am, individuals who have at least 2-3 drinks a day for a long time and are above the age of 50 years can develop a tremor called essential tremor due to the toxic nature of alcohol which is found to damage a part of the brain called the cerebellum (specifically Purkinje cells). This is considered a neurological disorder, and will have to be studied by a neurologist to confirm and manage the tremor ma'am.
As you have requested for some differential information, I shall also provide you with other conditions that can be responsible for a tremor like the one your husband is experiencing along with the light headedness he experienced:
-Hypoglycemia
-Parkinsons disease
-Multiple sclerosis
-Stroke
-Brain injury
and a few others.
I would thus strongly advice an MRI of his brain to confirm/rule out the causes ma'am. I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always available to help.
Best wishes.
