What Causes Undescended Testicles In A Child?
Question: I have a 6 week old son. I couldn't see his testicles in the scrotum so I had a feel to see if I could feel them. Could this have damaged them?

Brief Answer:
no not likely that any damage would occur
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
NO, it is highly unlikely that damage would occur in this way.
The doctor or nurse in the hospital, when examining him would have also needed to palpate to make sure that the testicles were in place
Severe trauma or force would be needed to cause damage.
Congrats on your baby
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad you think he's ok.
All I did was palate the scrotum with my thumb and middle finger. I didn't realise the small 'pea' like thing that was sliding between my fingers was the testicle so I did it many times looking for them. Do you think even palpating many times is harmless? Would I have squashed the testes? Can they get squashed? It's only when I took my son to the health visitor that I realised I was actually feelings the testicles and that they're there!
