What Causes Uneasiness, Excessive Sweating In The Forehead And Unsteadiness?

Question: Dear Doctor.

My nephew is 24 years old, weighs about 73 kg and is 5' 6". a few days back he woke up early in the morning feeling uneasy and found himself sweating all over the body in particular over forehead. he got up and was a bit unsteady on feet. he went to toilet and passed motions and was reasonably alright. he has faced such episode twice earlier, one a few months back and first one a few years back. kindly advise.

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your concern

With such a presentation in my clinic, I would first rule out any heart related problem by doing a physical examination and to confirm diagnosis you need ECG, ECHO and one angiogram test. As he is overweight he needs some diet modification to reduce his weight to at least 5% and for it you need to consult with your nutritional expert to prepare a chart for it.

“As “per your question you can do few things at home: -

1)Try to avoid smoking

2)Restrict certain diets like fats as you are overweight and weight reduction is essential for him

3)Check fasting blood sugar and blood pressure and manage it to control

4)Try to avoid large meals at bedtime

5)You can discuss with your doctor to add [aspirin]once a day up to angiography tests

one more point, i got the information that he was diagnosed with congenital ASD during childhoo. can that also be the prime reason for his condition? XXXX
