What Causes Upper Abdominal And Body Pain?

Acute gastritis, antacids and omeprazole, see Dr
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
the commonest disease that presents as such is peptic ulcer disease or gastritis. you would need to get a proper clinical review for this. The classic pain as you describe is in the upper abdomen, irradiating to the back, more intense at night and the early hours of the morning and when one stays for a long time without eating.
Acute crises can be treated with antacids like MAALOX and Proton pump inhibitors. The commonest cause of this disease is mainly a bacteria called Helibacter pylori. Your doctor would put you first on a 7 day course of anti biotics to eradicate this germ (Metronidazole, amoxixilline and omeprazole). there after a maintenance dose of omeprazole is prescribed for over 4 to 6 weeks depending on the intensity.
Other causes of upper abdominal pain are inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis). You would a proper review from your doctor. ut its most likely to be gastritis or peptic ulcer disease. Do not stay for long without eating, avoid spicy foods or any identified foods that aggravate the pain.
I suggest you see your primary care doctor for a proper review. Left untreated, complications like gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation can set in. Kind regards
