What Is The Treatment For Erythema Lower Third Esophagus And Acute Gastritis?

49 yr old male, just had an Upper GI . I have acid reflux and take nexum when needed. finding were mild erythema lower 3rd of esophagus,biopsies taken. mild inflammation by congestion and erythema in the gastircantrum , biopsies taken . Acute gastritis should I be concerned about these biopsies, I also smoke more then a pack a day

Hello,

These biopsies are not concerning. I would recommend checking for the presence of helicobacter pylori and stopping alcohol or smoking. It is also necessary to eat more frequently and in small portions and avoid spicy food.
