Clinical Exam, investigations ASAP.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
To recapitulate: Female/ 58 - suffering from 3 days -pain, pressure, tenderness in upper abdomen - no appetite, feeling like gas but not passing - sleeping and laying down is uncomfortable - drinking water.
From the history you have provided this looks to be due to problem of the gall bladder / liver / pancreas or stomach proper.
May I please know any associated history, if you have.
- Fever, nausea, vomiting, bloating, pain in right shoulder or mid-back, constipation or so. This will help us more.
I would advise you the following.
- Clinical evaluation, physical examination by a Doctor to have clinical diagnosis so that further tests can be carried out to confirm the diagnosis and plan the treatment.
- Ultrasonography, X-ray of the abdomen in standing position.
- Blood : CBC, Liver and Kidney functions and as advised by your Doctor.
- Tests of urine and stool.
-Once the primary tests are done , to confirm by further tests depending upon the results. These may be Upper GI Endoscopy, CT scan, MRCP, ERCP and so on.
The clinical examination and tests should be done ASAP as it is already 3 days you are suffering and the golden period of early diagnosis and proper treatment goes away. Do not be late.
I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications if you feel there is a gap of communication.
