What Causes Urinary Retension When On Zoloft?
Question: I'm actually just passing thru....I was given Zoloft as a stepping stone to get off Cymbalta......I do NOT have depression ...but was initially given Cymbalta years ago after I had 2 XXXXXXX strokes......but the loss of feeling in my feet.. the Cymbalta NEVER helped by feet....but I'm currently have SEVERE problems trying to urinate...(side effect) ..so thusly Zoloft. appears on the scene.... Thanks For your interest.

Zoloft consists of sertraline and urinary retension is very rare (0.1 to 1%). If you are facing this problem, better to stop taking sertraline and consult a urologist. This effect would go in a day or two. In case, you do not pass urine and it cause abdominal pain, then you can go to emergency set up for further management.
