What Causes Urterine Fibroid?
The last ultrasound done 5months back had shown an anteverted uterus ET- 6mm, 16X15 mm fibroid in anterior wall.
The symptoms include mild pain in right side lower stomach and going towards lower back.
Please suggest what is the cure for this , is it something very critical?
No treatment is require at this stage.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us about it.
The fibroid is a benign growth in the womb and only call for treatment if it is symptomatic, depend on patient age and her fertility status.
In your case as you are in perimenopausal stage and the fibroid is small in size and not producing any symptoms, there is no need of any treatment right now.
Usually fibroid shrink automatically after menopause because its development depends on hormone estrogen and progesterone and their level decreases after menopause.
You should go for regular check up and keep watch along the growth of fibroid and any other new symptoms.
Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more.
Good luck.

What is the significance of the change in uterus from anteverted to retroverted in the past 5 months and with the current rate of growth of lesion from ET- 6mm to ET -10.4 mm, in the past five month; when do we need to take a call and go for the next checkup?
In next 3 months.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Nice to hear from you all again.
Sorry for the delay in my response.
The uterus becomes retroverted due to weakness of ligament or may be due to fibroid.
If endometrial thickness is less than 12 mm in premenopausal woman's chances of endometrial cancer are less.
In her case it is referable to the unopposed action of estrogen (due to fibroid in her case) which cause increased thickness of endometrial.
She should work for her next checkup after 3 months or when fibroid become symptomatic means it is bleeding or so.
Hope it is helpful, feel free to ask more.
Good luck.
