Brief Answer:
You may repeat the pap smear.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for posting your query.

Since this is your second episode of bleeding, please make sure that it is only the pills that are causing this. If vaginal causes like infections, cervical causes like cervicitis, erosions and polyps have been excluded, hormone imbalance is most likely to have caused this situation.

As you had your last pap smear in January and though it was normal, in view of the post coital bleeding, I would ask you to repeat it once again. This done, change your pills under the guidance of your consultant and watch for any recurrence.

Colposcopy needs to be repeated only in the event of an abnormal pap smear.

Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
