What Causes Vaginal Bleeding With History Of Tubal Ligation?
Question: I had my tubes tied in May after my 3rd cesarean. Over the past three months I've noticed light pink blood accompanied by light cramping and major bloating. This will last 4-5 days then stop. Its not enough to warrant a tampon just when i use the restroom. I've noticed each month that there is more light pink blood than the previous month and this month there was a clear discharge with blood in it. This occurs about 2 weeks before my period. Is this normal?
Brief Answer:
possible progesterone deficiency
Detailed Answer:
hello,
thanks for contacting healthcaremagic
what you are experiecing is called break through bleeding in the middle of the cycle due to a possible progesterone deficiency , which is heavily governed by stress factors during the cycle. ideally , this is seen in many women and tend to cease on its own when the stress levels are low and progestin pills are not required.
If this persists for 2 more cycles, then you may get your midcycle serum progesterone levels done to ascertain any deficiency.

Detailed Answer:
yes , it would be wise to seek an appointment , and a possible ultrasound may be done to rule out any mechanical causes in uterus like uterine polyps whcih can cause such intermenstrual bleeding.
However progesterone levels have to be checked and if required you may be placed on progestins for 10 days from day 15 to day 25 for a period of 6 months as treatment.
