Brief Answer:
Yes a culture can be taken
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.
Yes a urine culture can be taken to confirm the type of bacteria and type of antibiotic that would be needed. Dont take antibiotics before getting culture.
Finding some yeast cells in urine is normal and I dont think you need antifungals so you can avoid those keeping in view their side effects.
Hope it helps

Got my report.
Brief Answer:
It seems like UTI due to excessive harmless bacteria
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
There was no bacterial growth in culture and no sensitivity done. Only some gram positive bacteria and yeast cells are seen. Yeast cells are so common nowadays that I would ignore it and not prescribe oral anti-fungals. Oral anti-fungals can have side effects. But I do advice you to get fasting blood glucose levels checked.
For gram positive bacteria I prescribe antibiotic cephalexin (available in the brand name tab keflex) 500 mg twice a day for 3 days. It should clear up the bacteria and improve your symptoms.
Let me know if you have any doubts
