I Have Pus Cells In My Urine But No Bacterial Growth
HI , iam female , 26 years old . 174 cm , wt is 57 , iam gilberts syndrome patient and not married . I had suffered for a while from UTI .... and again i felt that I got it back . I did the test and the there was no bacterial growth but my Pus cells are 20 - 25 HPF and my RBC are 6-8 with a turbid coloour of urine and anything else in my test was normal . May i know what the presence of these pus cells indicates exactly and the reason of it ? and do I need to start a course of antibiotics ? Thanks/...
Hi Welcome to Healthcare magic....
Few more questions - 1)Do u have fever ? 2) Was there albumin in the urine?
Presence of pus cells and rbc s in urine with a negative urine culture looks less likely to be a UTI , i would like to go ahead with another repeat urine culture and a blood culture too in case you are not on any antibiotic.
Secondaly a urinary calculus(stone) can also present with such urinary findings.
Get a Ultrasound abdomen looking for a urinary tract calculus.
Check your BP, with renal function tests to rule out glomerulonephritis.
Anything causing bleed in to the urinary tract can have such finding .
