What Causes Vertigo, Dizziness, Nausea, Tinnitus And Fluctuating Hearing Loss?
Question: I have been having trouble with ringing in my ears for a period of time. At times, accompanied by a little dizziness but not bad lately. Have had nausea on one occasion. Hearing difficulty as a result., Probably tinnittis.
Wondering about coping mechanisms and whether or not phsiotherapy could help.

2. Menieres Disease causes vertigo, nausea, tinnitus, fluctuating hearing loss, fullness in the ears and the MRI can be normal. A low frequency hearing loss may be seen initially on a PTA (Pure Tone Audiometry).
3. Treatment with a salt restricted diet, acetazolamide and high dose betahistine helps control episodes of dizziness that are unpredictable.
4. In your case, other probable causes are central (brain related), migraine or aging related. These will require direct examination, preferably during an episode. In these, VRE (vestibular rehabilitation exercises ) are useful.
