What Causes Vertigo?

Question: If a physician wants to be sure that my wifes past ministroke (25 years ago with no lasting effects) did not instigate a case of vertigo (diagnosed). Could the required MRI tests be performed on an outpatient basis?

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your wife's diagnosis of vertigo.

I fully agree with you that MRI of brain can be done on an outpatient basis and there is no need to admit a patient just for an MRI, provided there are no acute neurological symptoms suggestive of a new stroke.

If there are new symptoms, then, we generally admit to look for progression of symptoms that may occur in some cases of XXXXXXX stroke or stroke.
