Question: My 15 yrs old son has been throwing up all morning. He got his flu shot. All other shots are up to date. He has no fever. Still has stomach cramps and feeling of nausea. How can I help him feel more comfortable? Is there something I should give him? He is throwing up again right now.

Brief Answer:
Probably side effects of flu shot

Detailed Answer:
hi
I am Dr Mittal
I think he is having the after effects of vaccination
It is common in flu shots and hepatitis shots.
This usually lasts upto 7 days and then settles.

You can try giving him antiemetics like ondansetrone and proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole 20 mg. He may develop a fever at a later date, when paracetamol may be used.

These are also a part of hypersensitivity reactions. So ideally he should meet his doctor once more to make sure there is no hypersensitivity reaction.

Best of luck
