What Causes Vomiting And Headache Post An ICH Stroke?
Question: My husband who is 36 years old just had an ICH Stroke last Thursday (4 days ago). He is still in the hospital as his lumbar puncture showed a white count of 150 (we were told it should be 5 or less). They are still waiting for labwork to confirm if there was a brain infection or if there was just a raised white count due to the stroke itself.
Today he had some suddent violent vomitting followed by a headache. He has slept most of the day but about a half hour ago he suddenly lost feeling in his right arm, lips, and tongue, was slurring his speech and delayed in answering us. THE NUMBNESS WAS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE FROM THE FIRST STROKE. I am concerned he has had another small stroke but the dr is telling us to wait "an hour or two" and if it happens again they'll order another scan. Does that seem right?

This can be due to the previous ICH (intra cranial haemorrhage) expanding and causing midline shift and pushing the brain to the opposite side
Lose of Feeling in Arm, Slurring of Speech, Delay in Answering are all danger signs which have to be evaluated immediately. If I am the treating doctor, I will not wait. I will order CT Brain Immediately
