Brief Answer:
It is normal. only massaging. no medicines required

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I saw the picture you have attached.
The reason your daughter faces this issue is because of nasolacrimal duct block which will settle down in a few weeks. This duct drains tears from eyes to nose.

In many babies it will not be fully open at birth. After a few weeks it will canalise fully thereafter your daughter will not have this sticky eyes.
No medicines are required.
1. Do clean the eyes regularly with clean water. This will ensure she faces little trouble with sticky eyes.

2. Massaging gently from the inner eye canthus ( where eye meets nose) down the nose will help in opening the blocked duct. You can ask the mother to do this gently say 20 times during each feeding when baby would remain calm.

It may take up to a year in some babies. Until then no medicines are required. If this issue persists beyond one year of age then you need to consult ophthalmologist for probing the duct.

Wishing your baby good health.

Dr Arun
