What Causes Watery Itchy Eyes When Diagnosed With Cataracts?

Question: I have normal pressures, 11 OD and 14 OS but thinning of optic nerve OD. Having moderate cataracts, we are preparing for surgery with Torex (?) implants. Although I have no presbyosis, ophthalmologist says these lens implants will prevent my developing and requiring glasses (I read a lot and don't tolerate glasses well and never tolerated any type of contact lense). I've been having extreme itching and watering of OD past 3 XXXXXXX but rubbing much causes pain, flashes. He also states that RPL and STS (?tomography) are normal (568 and 514, I think). He says I may have non elevated pressure glaucoma (have had OD cupping known since 1989 but no other signs or symptoms until past few years) and may do trial of glaucoma drops after cataract surgeries heal. He's given me Paseo (?) but I haven't filled it yet. Are there other tests like MRI I should have, as OD has always been my best vision (which is having difficulty - hit dog jumping onto highway from left and didn't see until he was in front of truck, and focusing has been harder, and sometimes vision is better and other times is worse). I never was near sighted until huge reading load in college at 22 y.o. Any further thoughts I should have other than being scared?
