Posted on Fri, 6 Nov 2015
Question: The corners of my mouth constantly feel wet, and I feel like I have to wipe them or suck in to dry them. But when I touch them they don t really feel wet. This has happened on and off for the last year or so. It s so weird and annoying.
I have no other health problems.

Brief Answer:
occurs commonly with apthous stomatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Corners of the mouth feeling wet with oozing or crusting lesions is common as part of aphthous stomatitis. If there are visible lesions then local betamethasone plus gentamicin ointment can be applied after cleaning the area with antiseptic povidone. B complex and iron supplements should continue. Zinc and folate supplementation can also be done. If no visible lesions are present then the above measures should not be taken and a dermatologist or oral physician should be consulted to examine the area more closely and advise accordingly.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
