Brief Answer:
Gradual dose reduction would prevent any significant withdrawal symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for choosing HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Respidal is Risperidone and the drug is a good antipsychotic drug. The dose you are currently taking is very low dose and it would not be very difficult to taper from this dose. In most of cases I usually advise them to reduce the doses of drug by about 20% every two weeks and then stopping the drug completely at the end of about 6 weeks. But since your doses are low doses then in my opinion in such case you can start taking half dose for about 2 weeks and then the same dose on every alternate day and ultimately stopping the drug completely at the end of 2 more weeks. This would prevent even minor withdrawal symptoms. Stopping the drug cold turkey may cause mild withdrawal like insomnia, restlessness, agitation, dizziness etc. symptoms. Please consult your doctor before making any change in your prescription.

Don't take stress because it is very easy to stop that drug. The medicine in some individuals is associated with worsening of symptoms which could be the reason tha you are having negative thought, anxiety etc symptoms. Stopping the doses should help in better functioning in my opinion.

Thanks, I hope this helps you. Please ask again if you have more doubts.

Take care
