What Causes Yellow Discharge Form Ears After Rupturing The Eardrum?
Question: I ruptured my eardrum a week ago while diving in a dive pool. My GP didn't prescribe antibiotics or anything. It has been leaking a yellow/clear liquid since, and I still can't hear properly. I don't think it is an ear infection (it doesn't hurt and isn't swollen or anything, just leaking and lack of hearing) Should I be concerned? what can I do to help it/ care for it?
Brief Answer:
You need to be concerned.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for consulting HealthcareMagic!
The things you have mentioned like ruptured eardrum, leaking a yellow/clear liquid and can't hear properly - all since a week are not minor things. You need to be concerned. Though it does not hurt, you need ENT consultation as early as possible and you may need otoscopy(examination of ear with a specialized instrument)
