default
Posted on Mon, 12 Oct 2015
Question: Hello a couple of days ago I noticed 4-5 small flesh colored raised bumps in my pubic area near the base of my shaft. They are painless but I'm still alarmed that they could be something. I do shave but I don't know if this is from shaving.

Brief Answer:
Genital Molluscum Contagiosum

Detailed Answer:
Hello. thank you for writing to us

I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the images.

I can see skin colored to slightly pinkish, grouped, raised bumps on pubic skin.
I will keep a possibility of Molluscum contagiosum. Molluscum contagiosum is caused by a virus, Molluscum Contagiosum Virus (MCV). Genital Molluscum is an STD. The infection on genitals is usually acquired by sexual contact with an infected sexual partner.
Treatment options for Molluscum contagiosum include ablation with either radiofrequency cautery or CO 2 laser. Topical imiquimod 5% cream is also a treatment option.
I suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your vicinity for a confirmatory diagnosis and for the needful.
