What Do Bumps Behind The Tongue Indicate?

Question: My doctor thinks I have chronic sinutitus. Tried two rounds of antiboitics. I'm getting a head CT done, but there are now bumps, they look like blisters, under my tongue. Do I need to worry about oral cancer?

Do not worry! The bumps behind the tongue could be either the enlarged lymphoid follicles or the taste buds. These are perfectly normal and not a sign of oral cancer.

The lymphoid follicles are like the policemen in the body, they get enlarged during an attack of infection to indicate an ongoing inflammatory process. Do not worry! These are normal and harmless.
