Question: I have muscle tightness behind my left knee and my whole left leg, and my knee feels unstable

I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

Did you did any movement that might have sprained the knee/leg?

Whatever its happening there, you are doing good to rest, ice and ibuprofen.

If it continues, especially to feel unstable, you will need to consider a physical examination to your local doctor/Orthopedician, so that s/he can check the instability further and if any organic cause behind it.

Also, you don't want to have swelling more then 2 cm in that side comparing to the other one, because that would mean a blood clot in the veins. If that is the case, please don't delay and go to the ER.
