What Do My Blood Test Reports Indicate?
Could you attach thyroid blood reports
Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern.
Agree that, hypothyroidism often can cause heavy periods. You did mention that thyroid blood tests were normal. Could you please attach the blood report? I would like to know if you ever had a thyroid antibody test ( Anti TPO).
How regular are your periods? Do you take any other medicines ( blood pressure, diabetes, anti depressants ). Any history of constipation? . What is Your height and weight? Have you had a gynecology check up ? Any nipple discharge ?
I must also say that, heavy periods and anxiety etc are not exclusive of thyroid dysfunction. It can also happen in depression itself.
As the thyroid blood tests are normal, and since most of your symptoms occur around the period of menstural periods, it may be a good thought to use a depot hormonal preperation once every 3 months( Depo Provera).

.
I haven't had a recent Thyroid test done. I have multiple sclerosis and currently take amitryptiline for sleep, a low dose at 25 mg. I have been on this medication for 7 years. I have previously been on Depo Provera shot in the past, and it caused many side effects. My Thyroid test from 2011 - 2014 are posted below. I have many symptoms that will come and go, that are not related to my MS. For example, I will have moments of feeling extremely "cold" and cold extremities (needing a hot bath to relieve), extreme fatigue, and constipation. Then this can switch to very anxious, hot flashes (so much that I need to go outside in the freezing weather to cool down), hand tremors, heart palpitations.
My eyes remain very dry or "red" and I will have muscle weakness/pain.
I understand that some of these symptoms may be related to MS.
Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Autonomic dysfunction
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the reply. I can see that your thyroid blood profile are norml on multiple occasions and hence i beleive thyroid dysfunction is not responsible for your symptoms. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. I suspect that you may have "autonomic dysfnction" associated with multiple sclerosis and that may be causing these symptoms. It is a good idea to discuss this with your neurologist. It is also good to get a fasting "FSH" blood test on the third day of your periods just to rule out ensuing perimenopausal state as a cause of these hot flushes.
