What Do My Blood Test Results Indicate?
I asked a question a few days ago but did not remember to attach the reports and the question was closed. I am concerned about some of my blood work values in the two attached labs.
I have been having spells of dizziness and left arm pain and seen numerous doctors, including a cardiologist and neurologist, ER doctors, etc. My blood work has come back normal numerous times, but this time a few of my numbers are out of range and I am concerned. I have had EKGs, blood work, CT angiogram, brain MRI. My doctor said everything is fine. The three numbers that are out of range are listed below and they are very different from previous measures that were in the normal range.
B/CRE – low – 24 (reference range 6-22)
MCHC – Low -31 (RR 32-36)
RDW – Low – 11.5 (RR 11.7-15)
MCHC & RDW do not signify anything serious, cervical spondylitis suspected
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
The values of MCHC and RDW are slightly low, however, all other blood parameters are within range.
MCHC and RDW on lower side are not significant when all other parameters are within range.
Regarding your symptoms of dizziness and left arm pain, I am of the opinion that these symptoms may be due to spondylitis especially when your cardiovascular and neurological system are not found to have any abnormality.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment and X-ray of the cervical spine.
Cervical spondylitis can lead to pain in upper limb along with dizziness and light headedness.
Thanks and take care
