Brief Answer:
Portal hypertension
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
He has esophageal varices. Esophagus is the food pipe and varices are dilated and totuous blood vessels.
Esophageal varices are signs of high pressure in the blood vessel to liver (the portal vein) and the condition is called portal hypertension.
The most common cause is cirrhosis which is a disease of liver. Disease conditions outside liver also can cause it.
The next step is to get an ultrasound scan done.
Based on the scan report more tests are to be done.
As his doctor said, he can consult a gastroenterologist to find the cause for portal hypertension and plan treatment.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.

Thank You Doctor.
we consulted the gastroenterologist.
Doctor asked is the patient vomited blood? Is he has janduise any time? Is he alchoholic? Etc...
Ans: on the day he fall sick he vomited and we noticed only a little quantity of blood not much.
Also he don't have any habits like smoking, drinking Etc.
He got jannduise 15 years back.
He don't have any swelling in legs or stomach also.
Now he is fine, able to do all his works as usual.
So doctor asked to retest once again.
dark stools only when he was having iron syrup. Now its normal.
Can you please tell us what are the symptoms of cirrohis. Every one will have all the symptoms or not.
Also in which stage he is in begin or last.
What is the stage

Hi,
Early stages of cirrhosis may not show any symptoms.
Later complications may develop which may include blood vomiting, black stool, abdominal distension, leg swelling, decreased urine output, drowsiness, jaundice etc.
As advised earlier, please get an ultrasound scan of the abdomen and liver function test first.
