Brief Answer:
Yes, I can see the reports now. Your hemoglobin is low. Need supplements.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms XXXXXXX
Thank you for getting back to me with the reports, I have gone through both the reports carefully.
First, your reports.
1. Almost everything is perfect... but hemoglobin level is significantly low and vitamin D level is alarmingly low.
2. The impression from your blood test is that, you have chronic iron deficiency, possibly due to loss of iron through menstruation. The loss of blood could be due to any cause, however, since you are a female, and all other tests are fine, I suspect the menstrual loss to be the primary cause.
Your hemoglobin level is 9 grams per 100 ml of blood and this is quite low and needs prompt correction by means of iron supplements, preferably by intravenous infusion.
The other values that are abnormal in your case, particularly, serum free iron level, Iron binding capacity, transferrin saturation levels, hematocrit, MCH, MCHC, red cell distribution width all point to the same thing, that is, iron deficiency.
If I were your treating doctor, I would advise you to get Iron sucrose infusion, weekly once for 6 weeks, and repeat the test after 6 weeks.
Apart from this, I would also advise you to increase the daily intake of iron in your diet.
It will be easily achieved.
If you are a vegetarian, please increase the intake of green leafy veggies, you can consume them on alternate days to maximise the dietary iron intake.
If you are a non-vegetarian, you can consume Chicken liver, or sheep liver/spleen which is rich in hemoglobin, and in general eat a bit more of meat (probably thrice a week would be sufficient).
The dietary modifications are essential to prevent a recurrence of the same problem. Please do not ignore the dietary recommendations.
2. Your vitamin-D levels are alarmingly low too. This implies that you do not get exposed to sunlight at all and also avoid fatty foods strictly. This is also evident from your Cholesterol levels which are lower than required.
My suggestion to you is, please eat well, being thin is good, but not eating enough is bad for health too, and cholesterol is essential too, even though too much of it does cause problems, too little of cholesterol also causes problems too.
You need to increase the oil/fat intake in your diet, eating meat will help you with this too.
Apart from that, you need to expose yourself to sunlight in the mornings and evenings regularly for the vitamin-D to be produced. This is very very essential.
But for now I strongly urge you to take vitamin-D supplements for at least 3 months.
Vitamin-D is essential for calcium turn over and many other important cellular functions. So please take vitamin-D supplements and calcium supplements too.
Consult your local doctor regarding the same and discuss all the things I have advised here, you may take a print-out of this discussion if you like and show him/her.
You need treatment for both iron deficiency anaemia as well as Vitamin – D deficiency without dely.
I hope I have made this much very clear to you.
*****************************************************************************
Now coming to the reports of Mr. Shivaramakrishna.
Almost all the reports are normal except the cholesterol levels and vitamin –D lveles.
His cholesterol levels are slightly high, and SGPT and GGT levels are slightly elevated, indicating occasional alcohol intake (most likely). This is not significant at this time.
My advice regarding Mr. Shivaraakrishna is, exercise regularly and sun exposure, and vitamin-D supplements for 4 weeks.
Apart from this nothing else is needed.
I sincerely hope I have been able to address your question completely, however, if you have additional concerns, I will be happy to answer them, if you have no problems, then I would suggest you to request a call back from the doctor as it will be easy to explain these directly and you will get an opportunity to clear your doubts at the same time.
Wishing you good health.
Best regards.

One more question is shiva's report indicate high uric acid, what could be the reason for its increase n any problems with the same.
Brief Answer:
Not very high. Could be due to recent consumption of meat. Repeat.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms XXXXXXX
Thanks for the follow-up query.
It is not elevated much and could indicate a recent consumption of meat, as recent meat consumption can cause it to be slightly high, but it is good to keep a check on that, so I would suggest you to get it re-checked again after a few weeks, ideally after a week after the last meat consumption.
If it remains elevated, then reducing the meat consumption and other dietary modifications will help.
Hope that clears your doubt.

Good Morning Doctor.
One more question on Shiva's reports. As you mentioned about SGPT and GGT levels are high may be Bcos of drinking. Yes that's true he drinks occasionally and worried if these high values relate something to liver problems. Could you please advice if he needs to undergo any additional tests.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
No need for additional tests. Yes the SGPT and GGT indicate injury to liver
Detailed Answer:
Hello Ms XXXXXXX
Welcome back.
As I mentioned earlier, SGPT and GGT levels are not significantly high.
Any amount of alcohol intake will cause dose dependent liver cell injury and that is reflected in the tests. You need not worry about the liver right now as the liver enzymes are quite fine, the elevation is not at all significant.
There is no need to do any other test now.
I hope that answers your query adequately.
Warm regards
