What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

I am BRCA1 and 2 negative, but I have a family history (grandmother and cousin) of ovarian cancer, my mother had breast cancer. I have never had any children
I also have abdominal pain (mild) and leg and hip pain on that side (sciatic pain). My periods have been very regular all my life. A few times over my lifetime I have had a period start up again after it was ending, but maybe twice this year, today being one of those times.
I know there are benign processes that can cause the enlarged ovary, but I am obviously concerned about ovarian cancer. I have recently had a colonscopy for the anemia and it was clear. I am only a few months post total thyroidectomy, and I am still hypothyroid as of my last test (severely so).
I am about a week out from this procedure and I am just getting nervous. I know that I am doing the right thing, but I guess I am looking for some encouragement. You may have none to give, but I feel that chances of this being cancer are fairly high, though nobody has told me this yet.
Chances of ovarian malignancy are there
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. You have really suffered a lot.
Ovarian cyst can be benign or malignant, and this can be decided by Doppler ultrasound, CA 125 levels in blood, and MRI.
Since you have a strong family history of ovarian cancer and breast cancer, chances of malignancy are increased in your case.
So, you took a very right decision of not delaying the treatment and going for surgical removal of the ovarian cyst.
Pathological examination of the cyst during and after surgery will confirm the nature of the cyst and further management should be decided accordingly.

My cousin has stage IV ovarian cancer and just had her debulking surgery. She seems to be doing well and is being treated by MD XXXXXXX in XXXXXXX The thought of having another type of cancer in one year is overwhelming. I have been doing fairly well with this, but as the procedure approaches, I am getting a little more uptight. Thanks again.
Hope for the best
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Your optimism will help you sail through this situation.
If it is cancer, then it will be detected at an early stage for which the treatment is available and effective.
Be brave, and hope for the best.
