Brief Answer:
PRF procedure will help.
Detailed Answer:
PRF procedure will help in reducing the nerve related pain. The upper back spasms and limb pain should reduce after the procedure because it is likely to be related to nerve compression.
There can be mild pain after the procedure on both sides. It will gradually subside in few days. If the procedure is successful then you can get it done on right side also.
Regards.

thanks very much..is this procedure the same as radio ablavation..to be precise it was called a prn.pulsed radio neuronomy..is this more invasive than an epidural or a nerve block..the pain specialist said that if this does not work on the left side that he would have to see what would be the next procedure..would this be a nurve block..thanks..i am wondering which is more invasive..also can it damage the nerves at all
Brief Answer:
It does not damage the nerve fibres.
Detailed Answer:
This procedure is less invasive than epidural or nerve block. It is less severe than radio ablation. It does not affect the nerve structure or injures the soft tissue surrounding the nerve. It is a very safe procedure which specifically reduces the pain perception of the nerve fibres.
If it is not successful then a more invasive procedure will be needed.

my consultant said that if it is not successful that he may not go in on the right had side.do you think that a nerve block might help..when you say invasive proceduure.do you mean a rhzitomy or nerve blcok. There is quite a lot of bruising around the facet joint..is this ok or safe..will this go away..is it ok that he did all the facet joints..c1 to c7..thanks.also is the osteophyte the trouble or is it the disc that is the trouble.thanks so much
Brief Answer:
Details below.
Detailed Answer:
If it is not successful on left side then getting it done on right side will not help. A nerve block is a more invasive procedure but can cause a muscle weakness. Mild bruising can happen. Doing a cold compress will help. It will gradually decrease in next few days.
The trouble is with disk. Osteophytes do add to the problem. Doing all the joints from C1-C7 will help in understanding if the procedure has worked for you or not.

the fact that he has done all the joints..does this help or not.....could this make it worse or irrate anything.thanks so much..again it was called a pulsed radio frequency treatment.. i have sent my new cervical scan to you..by attachments..i hope you get it.as it is only a month old and it will give you an idea of where we are in relation to all of this
Brief Answer:
Seen the latest scan.
Detailed Answer:
Doing the pulsed radio frequency treatment on all the joints will help. It can initially increase the pain but gradually it decreases the pain.
I have seen the latest scans. There is significant disc prolpse and dehydration at C5-C6 level and mild change at C6-C7 level.
Nerve root compression is present on both sides. Pulsed radiofrequency treatment will help in treating the nerve related pain.
Regards.
