What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?
1. Lungs are hyper aerated. 2. Hazy densities are seen in the inner lung zones and retro cardiac area. 3. Heart is not enlarged. 4. Diaphragm and the rest of the visualized structures are unremarkable. IMPRESSION: Non Sepecific Pheumonitis with Hyperactive airways.
My question: Is this really serious and we should follow up with additional checks and tests. Should we be worried and please advise what it means on the overall report and our next course of action for our only kid. Please help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.
The features mentioned in the chest xray show that there is persisting lung infection in your child. This is probably the recovery phase since you have written that he is doing well now.
In children, xray findings are to be closely compared with the general condition of the child. If your son is active and feeding well, is not irritable or crying and responding to commands then probably the condition is not serious.
However please be in touch with the doctors who treated his dengue and get your son clinically examined if you feel there are any distress symptoms like cough and cold, fever, not eating well, crying and irritability and not behaving in normal way.
Children are delicate and usually you should keep close watch for any disturbing symptoms and report to your doctors.
Regards,
