What Do Shivers And Feeling Cold Indicate Despite A Normal Body Temperature?

Question: I am a 64 yr. old female. I use to have hot flashes at night, and I would just have to ride thru them. Now, for the last 3 months, I wake up feeling like I'm freezing to death. I shake all over, my teeth chatter...I wrap myself up in a blanket, but it doesn't really help. I just seem to have to ride it out. Any ideas? I'm checked my temp. It's normal.
