What Do Swollen Lymph Nodes On The Side Of Neck After Recovering From Diarrhea Suggest?
Question: I had diarrhea for like five days, cleared up now. I now have a swollen lymph node on my left side of my neck. I received protected oral sex in May, I'm getting checked for HIV today. Should I be worried. The onset of the swollen lymph nodes was really sudden I got done eating and noticed my throat had gotten a little tight. I slept for 3 hours and now I feel a hard module where my lymph node is. I have had strep throat several times in the past, could this be a possibility of my diarrhea (not having) and swollen lymph node? I never take my full prescription, bad I know, so I figure I still could be carrying it around.

As far as protected oral sex is concerned it is a safe form of sexual contact and there is no risk of Hiv from this form of sexual contact.
You may however get yourself screened for Hiv if you have had risky sexual behaviour in past.
Recent enlargement of lymph nodes in neck could be a from a multitude of factors, most commonly this is supposed to be reactive secondary to a local skin infection Or a pharyngitis Or sore throat.
Since you have history of recurrent sore throat therefore these swollen lymph nodes could be related to this. I dont think your diarrhea is related to streptococcal sore throat.
