Query answered
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr. XXXX
Thank you for the query.
I have gone through all the attached documents in detail.
A person with complete ACL tear ,with associated meniscal injuries (partial or complete ),may work as a pilot for 2 years. It depends on the pain tolerance and the amount of instability he had at that time.
Usually, pilots do not have much strain on their knees while performing their duties and they can continue their job and normal routine,by applying a knee support with / without intake of pain killer medicines.
It is a possibility that he may have sustained injury to any one of these ligaments 2 years ago,and the other ligament injuries may have happened during the subsequent 2-3 buckling episodes.
Or he may have sustained injury to all the ligaments at the same time (2 years old)
But the fact ,whether all the injuries (ACL,medial and lateral meniscii) have happened due to 2 year old football injury, remains uncertain as we have no older mri reports to comment on it.
About the surgical procedure, everything seems to have been done correctly by the operating surgeon.
I hope this answer was helpful.
If you need any other information, feel free to ask me anytime.
Thank you.
Kind regards.
