What Do These Biopsy, DNA Ploidy Analysis And Pet Scan Reports Indicate?
Question: My mom was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia with atypia and underwent a robotic total hysterectomy with salpingo-oopherectomy a month ago. A biopsy was performed and confirmed that the hyperplasia was a stage 1a, grade 1 endometrial/endometrioid adenocarcinoma. There were recommendations to do radiation/brachytherapy and there were recommendations to just observe it as it was only stage 1a/grade1 cancer. We opted to just observe it and do a dna ploidy analysis and a pet scan. The result of the dna ploidy was good. The CT pet scan result came back just now. I want to ask for recommendation and second opinion from another oncologist.
I am attaching the results of the biopsy, dna ploidy analysis and pet scan

Brief Answer:
No need of additional therapy
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your health concerns and anxiety about it.
In my opinion there is no need of any additional therapy and you can just keep a regular follow up with your surgeon and nothing else.
Stage 1a and grade 1 tumours of endometrial histology have a very very good prognosis and need of any additional therapy is just like overdone.
Visit your surgeon at regular visits as scheduled and just relax now.

Thanks for the fast reply. What do you think about the results of the pet scan? there were hyper metabolic pre tracheal lymph node and hyper metabolic focus in the umbilical region? what are those? how come metastatic deposit cannot be ruled out?
Brief Answer:
Not to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hypermetabolic pre tracheal lesion is common after throat or teeth infection so that is not a worrisome issue as to have this node positive and negative other nodes if abdomen is not possible.
The umbilical lesion is most probably the site of trocar insertion at the time of robotic surgery so not a concern at all.
