Brief Answer:
Lab results

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You would like us to make comments about your labs. The first thing I see in your labs is an elevated BUN and creatinine counts. These show that you have the beginnings of renal failure. Usually at your age this is common and can be a result of hypertension, heart failure, medications and previous injuroes to your kidneys. It could also just be age related decline in kidney function. Without knowing more of your history and prior medications I can't say the exact cause of the decline in renal function. This is not dangerous but needs to be monitored.

The second thing I see is a slight increase in BNP which measures the heart and heart failure. You have a mild elevation which means you may have early heart failure or had heart problems in the past. This again is only slight and does not diagnose you with heart failure

You also have high C reactive protein and sed rate which indicates some mild inflammation in your body. Could be current illness cold flu or arthritic condition. This needs to be interpreted along with your prior history and current overall health. The Sed rate and C reactive protein are very nonspecific and do not point to one disease entity. Of note your uric acid leve;l is high which may indicate gout and if you have had any flairs of gout that would explain the elevated sed rate, c reactive protein and possibly even the high BUN and creatinine.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

Brief Answer:
Review medications and history

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for returning to HCM with the additional information. With your history all these labs tie neatly into a causative conditions for your abnormal labs. Since you have had heart disease and a valve replacement you will have some minor elevations in BNP and the BUN/Creatinine. These are all to be expected and in light of your medications an history I would give you a thumbs up. these are to be expected and appear normal for your conditions. I would not recommend any changes to your medication or your current treatment plan.
