Brief Answer:
non alcoholic
fatty liver more likely
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
It is understandable to be concerned.
Fatty liver is the more likely than
liver cancer however. At this moment with all the various lifestyle issues in the world's population, non alcoholic fatty liver is one of the most common causes of liver disease.
Fatty liver is the accumulation of fat in the liver. It is classified as alcoholic fatty liver or non alcoholic fatty liver (due to diabetes, weight, diet and activity).
There are different stages, if caught and appropriate treatment is initiated then no further changes can occur. If it is not treated, it can unfortunately go onto significant liver disease.
Treatment of non alcoholic fatty liver due to diabetes would involve the following : (1) control of blood sugars
(2)reduced
carbohydrate intake- carbohydrates are actually associated with the fat build up here and the rest of the body
(3)increased activity if possible
(4) the use of
cholesterol medications such as statins
In terms of liver cancer, this is not as common and it would present with other symptoms such as significant
abdominal pain, jaundice, ascites (fluid build up in the abdomen),
weight loss, decreased appetite.
This is not as likely as non alcoholic fatty liver and in the absence of any of typical
cancer symptoms, liver cancer is unlikely to be present.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
