What Does Bacilli ++ In Stool Test Indicate?
Bacilli ++ in stool test-significance
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Bacilli ++ in stool test indicates presence of rod-shaped (bacillus) bacteria and either from colonisation or intestinal infection by the bacilli.
Stool samples are examined for leukocytes & cultured for bacterial pathogens to distinguish between colonisation (bacteria are present in stool but you are not sick i.e not having any symptoms) and infection (bacteria are causing infection producing symptoms and signs like diarrhea,abdominal pain ,fever etc). I would like to view the complete stool examination report before further commenting on this results. If you have stool culture performed too, please upload culture reports too.

Infective diarrhea
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Details of stool reports suggest infective diarrhea (loose stool with mucus. mild fever).Pending stool culture report (if it already been sent),empirically a course of antibiotic of quinolone group, such as ciprofloxacin for 3-5 days is advisable.Along with oral rehydration solution is needed to replace fluid and electrolyte loss. If you are in XXXXXXX subcontinent ,I would advise you also to combine with a course of tinidazole or metronidazole empirically as mixed infections are quite common.For next 2-3 days take some curd or yogurt to replace normal bacterial flora in the colon.Get your blood sugar Fasting & PP also done to check the state of glycaemic control.
