What Does GGTP Level Of 101 Indicate?

if other liver tests are normal ,it is not of concern.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
GGTP (Gamma-glutamyl transferase) is an enzyme found in liver cells and many other organs. When the level of this enzyme in blood is over normal range,it may indicate liver injury (hepatitis, cirrhosis ,cholestasis etc).
In this case the other liver tests would be elevated too ( ALT,AST,Bilirubin etc).
Diabetes, Hyperthyroidism ,elevated blood lipids, fatty liver ,alcohol consumption ,some drugs ( NSAIDs ,Statins for high lipids, ) can cause an isolated elevation of GGTP.
Now if :
-all other liver tests are normal
-you don't have any symptoms of liver problems like pain in the upper right abdomen, jaundice, weight loss, fatigue ,dyspepsia etc
-your lipids are in normal range
-you don't drink alcohol
then you have nothing to worry about.
In this case the isolated elevation of GGTP doesn't indicate nothing and doesn't require further investigations.
The elevation of GGTP is of concern only when it is associated with other elevated values of liver tests or you have clinical symptoms.Otherwise it is not of concern.
If you are overweight try to lose some weight.Eat healthy and exercise regularly.
Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to help.
Kind regards,
