What Does "WBCs 20-25/HPF Seen" In Urine Test Mean?
Question: Sir, gd mrng. I m LD Thongdok from New XXXXXXX Please explain what do you mean by WBCs 20-25/HPF seen in urine RE test.
She had undergone pelvic floor repair operation in 1991. I think that was a wrong thing to do in a very young age. but then there was no problem except for 2 or 3 cases of uterus infection which was ruled out for any malignancy after test in Cancer center in New XXXXXXX
Just to add that she has continuous pain in lower abdomen for last 10 days or so. she has feeling of something stuck in the vagina & trying to come out. She's taking lots of water as advice by doctor and thus urine frequency is 3 to 4 times an hour. Her doctor has gone abroad & therefore i want your advice asap. Thanks doctor!

Brief Answer:
Recurrent UTI, possibly.
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr Thangdok,
Good morning and Welcome to the forum.
I went through her history and the prescriptions.
I understand she had an episode of urinary tract infection and was treated with Inj. Amikacin.
Now the repeat test shows many wbc in urine.
This usually means that the infection is not fully eradicated. She needs urine culture and sensitivity test to find out the nature of the bacteria, which will decide the right antibiotic for her.
Resistant UTI can occur and needs further course of antibiotics.
Hope i am clear.
Sincerely,
